How does Overseas Delivery work? It's this simple:
ONE: Order the Volvo of your choice from DARCARS Volvo of Rockville.
There are a few steps you will need to take care of when ordering your Volvo at the dealership:
You will fill out an order form, a Swedish Application for temporary registration, and a Power of Attorney form
You will need to submit a $2,000 deposit.
You will need to provide a photocopy of your Passport, and your Driver's License.
In about 15 working days after this, Volvo will send an order
confirmation package, which includes the Order Confirmation for your
car order. The Confirmation will also show your order number and
scheduled delivery date, as well as instructions for organizing travel
through our Travel Department, and information on your specified
delivery point. You have 15 days from the date you receive your Order
Confirmation Package to finalize your travel booking, and up to six
months from the date of your vehicle delivery in Europe to complete
your vacation.
Final Payment is due at the Retailer 30 days before delivery (pick
up.) Make sure you bring the final payment receipt or contract copy
obtained from your Volvo retailer when taking delivery of your car in
Europe. Proof of payment is required.

Volvo-approved service facility to cover the work.

present us with the Volvo Home Shipment voucher (plus any other
required documents). We then ship your Volvo to your U.S. retailer. Click to download the Volvo Home Shipment Brochure
Free shipping from Gothenburg The Volvo Home
Shipment Program handles most of the charges. In fact, shipping is free
of charge as long as it happens within two/six months of pickup in
Europe. You only pay to transport your Volvo from your preferred
drop-off point to the final loading port. Or you can use the transport
services from Gothenburg and pay nothing at all.
Important: For Tourists the Volvo Home Shipment Program is only valid for 2 or 6 months, depending on where you drop the car off.
In
accordance with European customs regulations valid as from July 01,
2009 all Tourist cars must be exported from Europe (EU) within 6 months
from delivery, provided the exportation is done from Sweden (includes
our drop off locations Gothenburg (SE), Stockholm (SE), Drammen (NO)
and Copenhagen (DK)). When using our other drop off locations (outside
Scandinavia) the export declaration must be done when you take delivery
of the car, which limits your use of the car in Europe to 2 months.
Please see the Volvo Home Shipment Brochure for transport
charges, payment methods and currency for each Home Shipment Agent.
Appointment must be done with the Home Shipment Agent 4 days in
advance. Your local Home Shipment Agent is available to answer any
questions you may have.
